~ from the book of names ~
The
hollywood sign to the streets below where Nocturne walks, coat on,
annoyed at people, people annoyed at her. Shiny
paparazzi follow a starlet and her entourage to the sound of bad
techno, the last holding a disco ball over them with a fishing pole,
the music fading with them.
Two cars swerve around the bend
shooting at each other blaring the same music as they pass ... another
entourage across the street. A day.
A leering businessman with coffee pretending not to stare. She rolls her eyes as a scrap of
paper falls fluttering from the sky. Catching, she opens it ~
~ The Cowboy ~
Her vision zooms ahead to a man getting into the limousine with a small party, security, and a large sequenced cowboy hat to match his shiny fucking suit ... laughing ...
('Shoot Sign' by AKB48)
The businessman ahead leers as the voice-over of the song begins.
She
charges forward through the leering like a
ghost, her coat flopping him in the face, while in her
view the battles rage. (she's on the ground during that dragon charge
from the profane tales = sh.)
The herbivore dinosaurs charge behind
her with their riders shocked to see her, trying to avoid, pursued by
the riderless carnivores.
Running while trying to drink the man's
coffee, trailing her scarf she finishes spilling down her face, throws
down the cup and roars to the sky running faster. The Dirge airship
appears overhead firing forward.
____
Ahead the limousine
drives through the chaos, oblivious, the man inside yelling into the
telephone, guns around him being polished and tuned by his people. The
battles rage outside the windows unseen.
Soldiers fire at the
demons, knocking them from surfaces, one splatters the limo windshield.
Ahead the city crawls, it's surface unseen beneath the layers.
____
A charging herbivore bumps her and she punches it away, another on the
other side, she turns and looks back ... a charging triceratops, the
rider desperately to wave her aside "No ! No !",
Above the Dirge is hit by a blast sending a man flailing into the herd, trampled.
Triceratops looks angry ...
Dirge
flying over firing ahead, she flies cartwheeling over the herd and back
in. Pirouettes out and landing back in. Flailing arms and legs, back
in, swan diving back out, she catches a trailing herd chasing raptor by the neck
with her scarf, bringing it down.
Nocturne - Pinning the raptor, punching it's head. "Be ! Good !"
Raptor - "But ! The meat butts ..." He stares at the departing herd backsides ...
Nocturne - Punching harder, "! Be ! Good !"
He hisses back at her and she kisses his cheek. His eyes go dazed.
____
Riding
the raptor as the carnivores begin to take down the back of the herd
flailing, the following carnivores hopping over or charging through,
some stealing flesh along the way.
________
The Limousine windows
are splattered with demons unseen, while inside the cowboy tweets ... he
looks up from his phone and to his bodyguards, gesturing as though "The
nerve of this guy ..."
The guards shake their heads agreeing while polishing their guns.
____
Nocturne
slaps the raptor's face against the herd animals they pass as he stares
... he hisses back and is slapped harder, stunned, charging forward.
Ahead
a massive demon pulls itself from the ground, roaring to the sky,
drawing in souls through a mouth in it's chest. Inside the limo, the
cowboy angrily changes channels as the limousine drives between it's
feet.
____
Nocturne and the raptor stare up at it open jawed,
while the dirge flies over attacking. At the front of the herd the
demons are trampled, the riders throwing spear to finish them.
The Dirge stumbles the giant, it twists to a fall while the raptor hops over the chaos, up the falling demon ...
________
Outside
the nightclub, the limousine arrives, the cowboy and crew walk in. Another disco entourage walks
by flashing cameras while Nocturne crashes through the roof, raptor
spinning off the distance.
____
Standing up in front of the surprised cowboy, the room quiet, she checks around and looks at him.
(this is where the Profane Tales scene would end)
Nocturne - "Are you the cowboy ?"
A quiet room ...
The
music resumes (re-loop the main) as he pulls two revolvers and starts firing and
screaming, bodyguards following. The dancers firing away while the show
goes on ...
Dodging the fire, she dances between, eliminating
targets while joining the song with the performers in fight, ending in
grenades and a flip over the room ... the cowboy firing desperately away
... she lands on his head pushing him through the floor.
Raising
her arms in victory, she's showered in bullets as she turns self
cheering away unharmed as the dragon herds charge through the walls.
